Gorilla - An Introduction
Tuesday, July 25th, 2006Gorilla is the largest of the primates, a ground-dwelling herbivore that inhabits the forests of Africa. A gorilla has a stocky build with a broad, shallow chest, a short trunk and longer arms than legs. The elongated arms indicate the gorilla’s tree-dwelling ancestry even though it is now primarily terrestrial. With approximately 92-98% of its DNA being identical to that of a human, it is the second closest living relative to humans after the two chimpanzee species.
