Pandas – An Introduction
Thursday, October 5th, 2006Easily recognizable through its large, distinctive black patches around the eyes, ears and on its rotund body, the giant panda is an endangered animal now with an estimate of only 1,600 pandas left in the wild. The giant panda has a very distinctive black-and-white coat, and adults measure around 1.5m. Giant Pandas live in mountainous regions like Tibet, Sichuan and Gansu. Pandas eat shoots and leaves, Bamboo being of prime importance in a Pandas diet however bamboo offers very little nutritionally.
